Protecting Our Environment

Noise and Light Pollution

Gas stations are 24/7 operations. The constant noise from cars, delivery trucks, and stereos will disrupt our quiet residential neighborhood. The intense, bright lighting required for a commercial gas station will create light pollution, ruining the night sky and shining into residents' homes.

Beyond the direct health impacts of air pollution, a gas station at this location would create significant environmental harm through noise, light, and water pollution.

Stormwater and Water Contamination

Gas stations are "stormwater hotspots" because of the high concentration of pollutants. With every rainfall, spilled gasoline and oil will wash into our storm sewers, which drain directly into Buffalo Bayou. This poses a direct threat to our local waterways.
